WWE News: Jim Ross predicts a strong main event push for Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura brought the fans to their feet during his grand debut

What’s the story?

Jim Ross recently took to his blog, jrsbarbq.com, to discuss the effects of Nakamura’s recent debut on the main roster. Ross posted about Nakamura’s grand reception over at the blue brand and shared his thoughts on how the former 2-time NXT Champion would be booked on the main roster.

In case you didn’t know...

The last episode of SmackDown LIVE was lit up with the arrival of the King of Strong Style. Shinsuke Nakamura made a glittering debut amidst fans singing along to his entrance music. The rousing reception took place when Nakamura’s music burst through the arena with a violinist playing along during the Miz and Maryse’s segment.

Nakamura went on to compete in a dark match for the fans in attendance, beating Dolph Ziggler who had earlier challenged him during a commercial break.

The heart of the matter

Jim Ross stated that he enjoyed watching Nakamura finally make his way to the main roster. Ross pointed out that Nakamura was one of the most talented and charismatic wrestlers on the planet and added that he would surely make his way to the main event picture in a short span of time.

JR, however, mentioned that Nakamura needed to work on his English. He reported that if Nakamura could effectively cut promos in the ring and make the WWE fans believe in what he was saying, then he could be headed for grand success in the main roster.

‘Good ol’ JR’ concluded by stating that Nakamura was a “tremendous get” for SmackDown LIVE and maintained that he could fill up the top spot left vacant due to the absence of John Cena.

What’s next?

Nakamura’s debut has come at an uncertain time in the WWE with the Superstar shakeup scheduled for the next week’s episode of RAW and SmackDown LIVE. The King of Strong Style has joined the roster as a babyface and will look to make a mark on the blue brand with his unique style of hard-hitting wrestling.

Author's take

SmackDown LIVE may be the house that AJ Styles built, but with the Superstar shake up and rumours of AJ Styles moving to RAW, Smackdown LIVE could become the new stomping ground of Shinsuke Nakamura. This would, however, deprive fans of a possible matchup between the two in the future.

However, Nakamura’s addition to the blue brand has bolstered the already strong roster, and given their reputation, SmackDown can indeed make The King of Strong Style a bigger star than he already is.
