WWE News: Jim Ross thinks that Bray Wyatt can replace The Undertaker

The New Face of Fear

What’s the story?

In a blog posted on his website, Jim Ross said that Bray Wyatt has the potential to step into The Undertaker’s shoes. The legendary announcer also stated that he would be happy to see WWE take that direction.

In case you didn’t know...

At WrestleMania 33, Jim Ross provided commentary for the match between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns. Even though he was decimated by his opponent, The Deadman brought the show to a close with an emotional farewell.

Needless to say, The Phenom’s retirement has left a void in the world of WWE.

The heart of the matter

A fan asked Jim Ross if WWE were subtly positioning Bray Wyatt to replace The Undertaker. The Hall of Famer said that the move could be successful and that he would be in favour of it. Here are his exact words:

“Those are big shoes to fill but if Wyatt can continue to advance his game and make the persona his own then there is a chance that it will be successful. I like this direction if that's what it turns out to be.”

What’s next?

Ever since he moved to Raw as part of the Superstar Shake-up, Bray Wyatt has been teasing a feud with Finn Balor. However, that dream match will have to wait because the Eater of Worlds will face Randy Orton in a House of Horrors Match at WWE Payback.

Author’s take

The Undertaker was carefully protected and produced throughout his entire WWE career, and it is no exaggeration to say that Bray Wyatt hasn’t been afforded that luxury. Even though he is wildly talented, The Eater of Worlds will never replace The Deadman as long as he is bogged down by 50/50 booking.
