What's the story?

Jinder Mahal was doing an AMA on Twitter when a fan asked him whom he wanted to face at Wrestlemania 34.

The Modern Day Maharaja posted a video of himself answering the question on Twitter, and in the video, he challenged John Cena to face him at Wrestlemania.

In case you didn't know.....

Jinder Mahal came to India for the week to promote the upcoming WWE Live Tour of the country. The Live Event is set to take place on the 8th and 9th of December. Jinder revealed in an earlier interview that the tour will feature a match between him and Kevin Owens and that his WWE Championship will be on the line.

John Cena has been not been seen in WWE since he lost his match against Roman Reigns at No Mercy, as he took time off to fulfill his filming commitments, and take a step back from the helm of the WWE ship.

The heart of the matter

When he was asked by a fan on Twitter, who he would like to face at Wrestlemania, Jinder answered that he would like to face John Cena defending his WWE Championship. He also claimed that it could happen as he fully intended to be WWE Champion going into Wrestlemania and after Wrestlemania as well.

"I fully intend on being WWE Champion, come Wrestlemania, and even after Wrestlemania. So, John Cena, this is an official challenge to you."

Cena and Mahal almost met in a match for the title at Summerslam, but John Cena was defeated by Shinsuke Nakamura and went on to face Baron Corbin instead.

What's next?

Jinder Mahal is set to face Kevin Owens in his match defending the championship during the Live Event in December.

Before that, he will be involved in some capacity at Survivor Series, possibly in a champion vs champion match against Brock Lesnar.

Author's take

Given the push that WWE has given Jinder Mahal so far, it is not unlikely that they may stick with him as Champion till Wrestlemania.

No matter what other shows Cena may not be available for with his new part-time role in WWE, he will be available for Wrestlemania. So there is actually a huge chance that this match might just happen at the grandest stage of them all.
