Ferdinand; which features the voice of WWE superstar John Cena in the title role, has been nominated for Best Animated Feature for the upcoming Golden Globes.
Allison Brie was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for her work as Ruth Wilder on the Netflix series GLOW.

The Golden Globes started in 1943; which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awards excellence in television and movies. It is the official start of "awards season that ends with the Academy Awards (Oscars) in late February or early March.
The heart of the matter...
Ferdinand is a comedy/drama that will release in theatres this Friday, December 15. It features a bull (voiced by John Cena) who would rather do non-violent things like smelling flowers than fight in the arena until the disaster strikes and he has to make a decision.
In addition to Ferdinand, The Boss Baby, The Breadwinner, Coco, and Loving Vincent were nominated for the award.
GLOW is a series based on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling promotion that started in the mid-80's. The series takes a fictionalized look at the women and characters of the promotion; which made its debut on Netflix this past June.
What's next?
The 75th Golden Globe Awards take place on January 7, 2018, from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. NBC will broadcast the show which late night talk show host Seth Meyers will host.

I think it is really cool to see a movie where a WWE Superstar has a major role in being recognized and nominated for a major award like the Golden Globes.
They will definitely be up against stiff competition with Disney's Coco, but I think it has a chance to win the award. It'll be interesting to see if the movie will be nominated for an Academy Award as well.
