What’s the story?

Amidst a different set of opinions from various former and current wrestlers, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has now given his opinion on the whole WWE-AEW rivalry. The Olympic Gold medalist claimed that though All Elite Wrestling will do really well, his former company is a “monster”.

In case you didn’t know...

Ever since AEW called out their rivals at Double or Nothing, a buzz has been created about this becoming the next big rivalry. A lot of Pundits have had a different set of opinion and there have been comparisons between the two products going around for quite some time now.

While some believe that AEW is the future of the business, a lot of people still feel that WWE is so well established that it can’t be touched.

The heart of the matter...

In a Q&A session conducted recently on Facebook, the former WWE Champion suggested that though the new upcoming brand would be a hit, it could not be compared with a giant of the industry like the WWE. He said:

AEW will do very well. BUT, it is not WWE. WWE is a monster. It will be fun to see how this pans out. I have seen companies in the past attempt to make a run against WWE. WCW was actually neck and neck. TNA was not able to compare, but they had a great run with amazing talent, and TNA was a solid #2. AEW has some amazing talent as well, but WWE is so global, I do not think anyone will catch them. That is my opinion and I could be wrong.

What next?

The competition is getting stiffer day-by-day, with the two companies going head-to-head now. It has been drawing comparisons to the Monday-night wars from the Attitude ear and could eventually result in something similar in the years to come.

However, there is no guarantee in this business as to who will come out on top and it will surely be an interesting battle between the two giants. Hopefully, this has a positive impact on the entertainment industry in the long-run.
