WWE News: Kurt Angle on wanting to repeat his Wrestlemania 19 match against Lesnar and quitting the Indies

Angle may quit wrestling indies next year

The only Olympic Gold medalist in pro-wrestling history, Kurt Angle, recently had a Q&A session with his fans on Facebook. During the session, the former WWE Superstar answered a number of questions relating to his WWE career, his plans and working on the independent circuit.

Referring to his triple-threat match against Triple H and The Rock at Summerslam in 2000, a fan asked him if he remembered anything after a pedigree that he received from ‘The Game’ on the announce table. Angle claimed to have suffered a concussion and remembers waking up wearing an oxygen mask a couple of hours later.

“Yes, I got a concussion. I don't remember anything after the pedigree. I "woke up" 2 hours later with an oxygen mask on me. Scary...horrible night. HHH and Rock got me through the match though.”

When asked if there was one match that he wished he got the opportunity to wrestle once again, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion said that it would be his match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 19.

“Again? Lesnar at Mania. Except, I'd like to be healthy this time,” he stated.

Of late, Kurt Angle has been wrestling on the independent circuit, so a fan questioned him about any particular performer he wanted to face off against. In response, the former TNA superstar that Ryback was one but also hinted that he might not wrestle indies at all after March next year.

“I don't know. Maybe Ryback, but I think I may be done wrestling at indies after Rhodes/Angle 3 in NEW in March,” Angle said in response to the question.

A budding wrestler sought advice from the legendary wrestler regarding in-ring psychology. Kurt told him to stick to his role, irrespective of whether it is ‘babyface’ or ‘heel’, and also to try and keep things as simple as possible.

“Structure your match Baby vs. Heel and stick to your role. Too many wrestlers want to be the cool heel or the bad ass heel. That isn't possible. A heel runs and begs and pleads. Stay simple, and things will benefit you,” he told the fan.

A fan from Germany enquired if Angle has ever played himself in a wrestling video game and how things went. He responded by stating, “I suck at video games. Yes, I've played as me in video games. I've always lost...LOL!”

When questioned if there were any further goals that he wanted to accomplish in wrestling, Angle said,

“None. I've done everything I've wanted to. Very proud of my career. GOAT!!!!!”

On his plans in the upcoming year, Kurt Angle said that it was helping people recover from addiction using different methods. His reply stated, “To release my #Anglestrong App for recovering addicts. I will also be speaking at addiction centres and meet with politicians to assist in addiction recovery. #Anglestrong - we will win!!!”
