Lana might not be taking part in the 5-on-5 but she did deliver a massive blow ahead of Survivor Series.

What's the story?

The Survivor Series 5-on-5 women’s match took another twist after last week’s SmackDown Live with Charlotte picking up the women’s title for the blue brand and Natalya becoming the replacement for the new champ in the team.

And with the pay-per-view in a few hours, things were heating up between RAW and SmackDown as Lana started a bit of a Twitter war with Nia Jax (of team RAW) and asking her not to go missing in action after Jax wasn’t seen much on TV for a while.

In case you didn't know...

The SmackDown Live team for the 5-on-5 was only confirmed in the last show with Charlotte and Natalya switching places.

Charlotte will now face Alexa Bliss in a champion vs champion fight, while Natalya will team up with the rest of the SmackDown team as they take on their RAW counterparts.

The heart of the matter

Natalya, after being selected as the final member, stated that she “bleeds blue” and this is where Jax came in and said that the Blue side does a lot of bleeding.

Lana might not be taking part in the 5-on-5 but came out with a brilliant retort asking Jax not to go missing after the RAW star was not seen on TV for a while with a lot of speculation about her future in the company.

The response did seem to hit a spot as Jax tore into Lana and responded by claiming that the feud was between actual competitors and also asked the ‘Ravishing Russian’ to get her facts right.

What's next?

With Survivor Series just a few hours away, the women’s match might be just as interesting to watch as the traditional 5-on-5 men’s battle. There is a lot of bad blood brewing on both sides and we might even see Lana make an appearance during the fight.

Author's take

The Twitter exchange did take a serious twist as Lana referred to Jax not being seen on a number of previous shows. There was speculation that she had issues with the creative team and wanted out, but the RAW star stated that she was still tied to the company and just had some time off from scheduling.

Even though Lana will not be seen in the ring at Survivor Series, the women have done a lot to do well to amp up the stakes between the two brands. Jax could be the wildcard in the bout thanks to her dominating nature in the ring and personally, Team RAW should be able to pick up the win over Team SmackDown.
