What's the story?

Terri Runnels was a part of the contingent of female legends that returned for RAW 25, last week. However the legendary WWE manager was disappointed by how her segment eventually played out.

She aired her issues with the segment on her podcast. We thank Wrestling Inc. for the link and the transcript.

In case you didn't know...

WWE brought out a bunch of female legends for RAW 25. This included The Bella Twins, Jacqueline, Maria Kanellis, Trish Stratus, Michelle McCool, Lilian Garcia and more. Among them was Runnels, whom you may know better as Marlena.

Runnels was a part of several storylines in the 90s, most notably as Goldust's manager. She even pinned Crash Holly to become the WWE Hardcore Champion at one point, even though he won the title back from her.

Despite the multitude of stars, Marlena was disappointed.

The heart of the matter

While Runnels did not feel 'disrespected' per se, she did feel disappointed.

I think I am disappointed. I don't feel like I was disrespected, but I just think that they had; this is my guess, but I believe they had a monster of a show to try to do and figure out.

It was the fact that the only thing these women ended up doing was coming out to wave, that really made her upset.

I just think it ended up being a time thing; 'We don't know what else to do, let's just have them come out and wave.' I don't know, it was just disappointing because I loved my WWE family and all of that and it was just disappointing. It was a let down.

What's next?

It seems unlikely that Runnels will be a part of WWE storylines in the near future, but then again, her podcast called- 'Cigars, Scars and Superstars' is a lost of fun.

Author's take

I was really disappointed with the segment as well, and had even mentioned so in my 'Best and Worst' recap. Honestly, WWE shouldn't have packed as many superstars as they did into the show.

It seemed like a hurried show, but thankfully the Royal Rumble made up for it.
