What's the story?

Not long ago, Paul Heyman had an interaction with the official Twitter account for the Cricket World Cup. Heyman took a jab at the account for playing on the same catchphrase that Brock Lesnar is associated with.

Following the Tweet, he would be sent an official invitation to attend the Cricket World Cup. Heyman responded as only he can.

In case you didn't know...

Paul Heyman is one of the greatest minds in the sports entertainment business. Not only is he the man who put ECW on the map, but he was also a very important figure for the SmackDown brand behind the scenes, in the early 2000s.

Heyman is still an important figure behind the scenes in WWE, working with the likes of Ronda Rousey. More famously, he is the mouthpiece for Brock Lesnar. The two men are currently involved in a feud with the Number 1 contender, Finn Balor, who challenges Lesnar for the title at the Royal Rumble.

The heart of the matter

Paul Heyman is a man known for his sharp wit and intellect, and he is known to be in character more often than not, whether it's on screen or on social media. Heyman sent across the following Tweet in response to the invitation to the World Cup:

Heyman indicated that while he would not be opposed to attending the World Cup, he would charge an 8 figure appearance fee. Let's hope that this is not the end of the interactions between the two accounts and that the exchange continues. Heyman and Lesnar appearing at a cricket event would certainly bring new eyeballs to the sport.

WWE India even went on to tease an appearance by MS Dhoni in the Royal Rumble. Now that would be a very unique crossover!

What's next?

Lesnar is preparing to defend his Championship against Finn Balor at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Balor even indicated that 'the demon' will not be making an appearance at the show. One must say then, that Lesnar is the clear favourite to win.
