WWE News: Main Event for SmackDown Live announced

Luke Harper
Harper returned to action after a knee injury in early October

After putting on a great show this Sunday on Roadblock, Raw announced a rematch from the PPV event between Rusev and Big Cass, in advance, for the next episode of the red brand to build excitement. Now it looks like its blue counterpart has adopted this technique from their rival brand.

As All Wrestling News noted, SmackDown Live has announced that the former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose will face the former Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper in a one-on-one match this Tuesday, with the other members of the New Wyatt Family at ringside.

It's worth noticing here that the recent reports suggest that Vince McMahon is impressed with the in-ring capabilities of Luke Haper and he wants a push for the Wyatt Family member.

Just last week, we saw him involved in the main event scene of SmackDown Live. He participated in a fatal four-way elimination match against Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and the Miz to become the #1 contender for AJ Styles's WWE Championship.

While the match was ultimately won by Dolph Ziggler, Luke, who got eliminated second, also got his chance to shine as he dominated in the initial moments of the match.

So this announcement from WWE can be seen as the next step from the company of making Harper a serious individual contender. You can watch the full fatal four-way elimination match below:

Luke Harper signed with WWE back in March 2012 and made his main roster debut along with the other members of the Wyatt Family in July 2013. While the Wyatt Family has become one of the main stables of WWE in the time since their debut,

Harper has always been considered the underdog of the team who did not get a proper chance to showcase his talent while being part of the Family. Although he did get an individual push back in 2014, winning the Intercontinental Championship after he was 'set free' by Bray Wyatt, his momentum as an individual contender did not last long.

He lost his title just 27 days after winning it and was reunited with Bray Wyatt once again a few months later, after being involved in a couple of short term feuds.

Now with SmackDown's emergence as a wrestling oriented show since the brand split, fans expect that Luke Harper would finally get a proper chance to shine in the spotlight and would be finally able to showcase his talent.
