WWE News: Major change regarding storylines to happen after brand split

Stephanie gives a sneak peek into WWE’s post brand split plans

Last week, Stephanie McMahon and John Cena were in Cannes to talk about the WWE brand and its contribution to the entertainment industry. During a Q&A with the press, Stephanie and Cena answered some of the questions asked relating to brand split and explained how both Raw and SmackDown would be different entities of WWE.

Speaking of the brand split, John Cena reminisced how the 2002 brand extension gave him his identity and expressed his belief that each show will have unique talents which will bring forth an unique product. He also noted that the storylines would not carry over between the two shows, thus making each show an unique experience to behold.

Stephanie reaffirmed his opinions on talents and noted that they have lost the ability to tell stories over a longer duration as they had to fill three hours of programming on Raw and follow it up on SmackDown too. She also said that with separate rosters, they can now slow down their storytelling and elaborate more on the connect and connect with the audience in bigger ways.

It is also to be noted that Stephanie has revealed earlier that the WWE is trying to implement virtual reality in its products to give a different experience to viewers all around the globe. Looks like things are changing in WWE for good.
