What's the story?

Chris Jericho announced on his Twitter and Instagram accounts Monday afternoon that frontman for Stone Sour and Slipknot, Corey Taylor, will join the Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager At Sea.

In case you didn't know...

Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager At Sea is a mix of entertainment, rock 'n' roll, and wrestling. There will be bands and comedians performing for the guests as well as a Sea of Honor Tournament featuring some of the best wrestlers from Ring of Honor and other indie promotions.

The heart of the matter

Besides having obvious ties within the music industry, Taylor has also appeared on Talk Is Jericho a few times over the course of Jericho's podcast. On Jericho's Instagram post below, he announced that Taylor will perform a special acoustic set on the cruise.

Corey Taylor started with Slipknot after fellow band members asked him to join in 1997. This highly-successful band has five studio albums with .5: The Gray Chapter being their last album in 2014.

Stone Sour is a band that Taylor formed in 1992, but it wasn't until their first album after Slipknot's breakout in 2002 where they hit the mainstream. Stone Sour is just as popular and successful as Slipknot, and currently has a total of six albums, including Hydrograd; which was released last June.

Taylor joins a great list of wrestlers and wrestling personalities for the cruise including Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler as hosts, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Jay Lethal, and many more.

What's next?

Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for further announcements on The Cruise Of Jericho. The cruise itself will leave Miami on October 27th and set sail for The Bahamas before returning on October 31st.

Author's take

As if going on this cruise was high up on my wishlist, they go and add one of my favorite musicians on the planet in Corey Taylor. I love Slipknot, but I REALLY love Stone Sour.

Those who will be on the ship for this event are going to be in for a treat when Corey performs some of his songs acoustically.
