WWE News: Major WWE name not featured on new WrestleMania 34 Image

What’s the story?

WrestleMania is once again almost upon us and like every year, fans are wondering who, if at all anyone, will the legendary Undertaker be facing on the card? The new DVD cover for WrestleMania 34 which has already been released online, may be telling us what plans WWE may have for the phenom at WrestleMania.

In case you didn’t know…

Last year at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando that The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns in the main event. Following the decision, The Undertaker left his gloves, coat and hat in the center of the ring before slowly making his exit, walking over to his wife, former WWE star Michelle McCool, and kissing her, then walking up the ramp and performing his signature arm-raised pose as smoke surrounded him and he descended down into the ramp to the sound of his music.

It was on the 25th Anniversary special of Monday Night RAW that the Deadman returned for the first time since his loss to Roman and cut a very cryptic promo, possibly hinting that he may not be finished just yet. Taker has been rumoured to be facing John Cena at WrestleMania, on and off for years, and many think it may finally happen at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

The heart of the matter

Wrestling Inc. have revealed what the new cover art for the WrestleMania 34 DVD will be. Inconspicuous by his absence is The Undertaker. The image features everyone from AJ Styles to Ronda Rousey to Jinder Mahal, but no phenom. Could this mean The Undertaker will in fact not be wrestling on the card? I think it is highly possible as The Undertaker seemed to have gone out just as he has wanted to over the years. Below is the DVD cover.

What’s next?

If The Undertaker does indeed return for one more match at WrestleMania, he would likely return to RAW within the next two weeks in order to build up hype for his rumoured match with John Cena.

Author’s take

I think it is highly possibly Taker could be finished as it seems like he went out on his own terms. Undertaker took in yet another defeat at WrestleMania, he went out in the main event, he put over the future face of the company in Roman Reigns and he broke character by kissing his wife, he left his belongings in the ring and he had wanted Jim Ross to call his final match. Taker got what he wanted and did what he wanted, so it may very well be the end.

Then again, his cryptic promo on RAW 25 seems to suggest he may not be finished. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
