What's the story?

Those in the WWE Universe who still had their doubts that 'Broken' Matt Hardy would ever appear in a WWE ring can relax as Hardy began his 'breakdown' following a loss to Bray Wyatt on this week's Monday Night RAW.

In case you didn't know...

Matt Hardy has been getting increasingly unstable as of late, in a move that weirdly coincides with news of him wrapping up the legal battle of the rights to the 'Broken' gimmick he popularised in TNA.

Recently, Matt Hardy began a mini-feud with Elias in which he warned the musical Superstar not to push him for fear of the consequences, and followed that up with this tweet.

The heart of the matter

Matt participated in a short match against a deranged Bray Wyatt who had just told the WWE Universe they were all dead, and Wyatt picked up the win with the Sister Abigail.

However, it was what happened after the match that was noteworthy as the WWE Universe broke out into a Matt Hardy chant as the fallen Superstar gathered himself. But those chants quickly changed to 'Delete' chants when Hardy appeared to, as Michael Cole put it, have a breakdown.

What's next?

It seems that Matt Hardy is going to get more and more broken in the coming weeks of Monday Night RAW until he finally becomes the 'Broken' Matt Hardy we all know and love. Just in time for a Jeff Hardy return around the Royal Rumble or afterwards!

Author's take

It's good that Hardy has finally managed to get the legal green light to move forward with the popular gimmick but he's going to have to work hard to rebuild the momentum the gimmick had gathered as people seem to have cooled on it slightly.

I also have my fingers crossed that the WWE will let Hardy go as nuts as he did in TNA.
