WWE Raw Superstar and former Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy recently spoke with Sky Sports regarding his and Jeff Hardy’s big return to the WWE last year at WrestleMania 33 and opened up about what it was like to surprise the WWE Universe..
In case you didn’t know…
Both Matt and Jeff Hardy made a return to the WWE last year at WrestleMania 33 at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
On the night of their grand return, The Hardy Boyz immediately captured the WWE Raw Tag Team Titles in a four-way ladder match, which also involved the teams of Enzo and Cass, Sheamus and Cesaro (The Bar), and then reigning champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with Sky Sports, Matt Hardy stated that his and brother Jeff’s return to the WWE last year at WrestleMania was quite overwhelming and very flattering as well.
Hardy went on to say that one of the main reasons why it was such an incredible moment for him, is because it had been kept a secret from the entire WWE Universe right up to their exact point of return at ‘Mania.
"We had literally just arrived at the building right before we were due to walk down the ramp to the ring, and the adrenaline of being snuck into the building and going up to gorilla (position) and then walking down that ramp was very, very special.
Additionally, Hardy noted that it is really difficult to keep secrets in today’s day and age, especially in the world of Pro Wrestling, but, despite that, The Hardy Boyz along with a few WWE officials worked really hard to make their return a special moment and a huge surprise for the fans.
What’s next?
Matt Hardy is currently on the verge of ending his feud with Bray Wyatt on Monday Night Raw, whereas, on the other hand, his brother Jeff Hardy has been recovering from injury and is on the verge of making a return to the WWE.
However, as of right now, we are still not sure what the WWE has in mind for The Hardy Boyz, especially, Matt.

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s return to the WWE will certainly go down as one of the greatest moments in WrestleMania history and full credits to all the WWE officials who kept the return a secret, making it a huge success.
