What’s the story?

WWE superstar Matt Hardy has welcomed former Impact Wrestling star Amanpreet Singh (Mahabali Shera) to WWE. Hardy did the same through a tweet that you can see below.

In case you did not know…

Amanpreet Singh, who wrestled in Impact Wrestling under the ring name Mahabali Shera reported to the WWE Performance Centre last week.

The 27-year-old started working with Impact Wrestling back in 2014 and parted ways with the company in 2017. After reporting to the Performance center, the former Ring Ka King World Heavyweight Champion noted that he is going to make his country proud and that he cannot find a better platform than WWE to do the same.

The heart of the matter

Matt Hardy welcomed his former Impact Wrestling co-worker with a warm tweet. The Broken One had high praise for Amanpreet and tagged him as a ‘Sterling Soul’. Hardy also mentioned that he is ‘Delighted’ that Amanpreet has finally joined WWE.

What’s next?

Though the Indian has reported to the WWE Performance Center, the exact timeline of his future with the company is unknown. However, the signing has created a buzz among the wrestling community and it once again shows WWE’s interest in the Indian market.

Author’s take

WWE’s intentions behind the signing of Shera are pretty clear. They have been pushing aggressively into the Indian market and going forward, the new signing is expected to be deployed in this mission.

The best part about Shera is that he is born and brought up in India which was not the case with Jinder Mahal. Also, he has a great real-life story of how he chased down his dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

It would be interesting to see if Shera gets associated with Jinder in the future storylines since WWE has a habit of grouping up similar wrestlers.
