WWE News: Multiple segments revealed for Christmas edition of SmackDown Live

Will Shane McMahon give The Miz the one thing he's been wanting for Christmas?
Will Shane McMahon give The Miz the one thing he's been wanting for Christmas?

Next week's special Christmas edition of SmackDown Live will feature two great matchups and some more begging from the A-Lister.

Revealed on tonight's SmackDown Live, the WWE Universe will get a title match next week. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will go one on one with the Bulgarian Brute and two-time US Champion Rusev. Rusev hasn't held the title since 2016. After a short four-month reign following a victory over Kalisto, Rusev dropped the championship to Roman Reigns.

Rusev has struggled recently to get a lot of screen time since the Rusev Day breakup, and a big victory next week could be just what he's looking for. The same could be said for Shinsuke Nakamura, whose title reign has become somewhat insignificant due to a lack of defenses. A victory over a big fan favorite could set him on track for big things in the future, especially with the Royal Rumble coming up.

Next up is Samoa Joe vs Jeff Hardy. The Charismatic Enigma has a notably rough past with substance abuse, and Joe has taken the initiative in his feud with Hardy to harass him for those decisions. Recently, Joe appeared at a bar, where he gave a speech on the dangers of drinking and driving. Hardy was arrested back in March for driving while impaired.

Finally, The Miz will host a special Christmas edition of Miz TV. The former WWE Champion has been campaigning for a partnership between himself and Shane McMahon since WWE Crown Jewel, where he assisted McMahon in winning the Best in the World Cup. Will The Miz finally persuade Shane-O-Mac? Tune in on Christmas Day, December 25th at 8 pm ET to find out.
