WWE News: Natalya says Paige hasn't spoken to anyone about her injury

Has Paige discussed her future with *anyone*?
Has Paige discussed her future with *anyone*?"

What's the story?

Paige has gotten her fair share of headlines over the past... what has it been? Year? Two years? How are you supposed to keep up with nonsense like this?

Anyway, what we know for sure (i.e. what WWE has announced, anyway), is that Paige is still in WWE and that Paige is currently hurt and that, as far as WWE is concerned, Paige won't be in the Women's Royal Rumble match at the event of the same name a little over a week from now.

And if you think you're out of the loop, imagine how her contemporaries like, say, Natalya feel, since according to the cat-loving former Women's champion, Paige hasn't spoken to any of them regarding her health status.

In case you didn't know...

Paige has had a rough year of it, on top of an injury that's kept her out of action, she served two back-to-back WWE Wellness Policy suspensions. She was also involved in an off-screen relationship with Alberto Del Rio/El Patron - including an engagement - as well as a sex tape controversy that made many question as to whether or not she'd perform in a WWE ring ever again.

The heart of the matter

Of course, her return to Raw on November 20th - along with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville - answered that question. But now, after suffering another brutal injury that will, at the very least, keep her out of the Rumble, we're all once again wondering what her official status with the company is. And by "we", we nearly literally mean everyone.

"I don't know the particulars of exactly what happened with Paige," Natalya told the Sporting News recently, "I just know that she hasn't spoken about it yet and WWE hasn't released a statement so everything from this point, as we know it, is just waiting to see and time will tell."

"I would just wait to see what happens with Paige and wait for more from WWE to make an official announcement," she continued,"What we do is physical and Paige is one of the most talented female superstars I've ever been in the ring with. So, I have nothing but respect for her."

What's next?

While plenty of online sources have proclaimed Paige's career over, neither WWE nor Paige have made any official announcement regarding the situation, outside of confirming that she won't be in the Rumble match. We're sure to get some clearer details during this week's Raw 25th Anniversary show. Hopefully.

Author's take

There's a myriad of reasons why, if the reports are true and Paige's wrestling career in WWE is over, WWE hasn't made an announcement regarding it. WWE is always looking to control the narrative in every aspect of their company. Whatever the reason is, let's hope it's in the best interest of Paige's long-term health.
