What’s the story?

A new episode of Table for 3 featuring WCW Legends Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sting will air on the WWE Network immediately following RAW.

In case you didn’t know

Steamboat, Sting, and Flair were some of the biggest NWA and WCW wrestlers in the 80s and 90s. Flair’s three-match series with Steamboat is considered some of the best wrestling of all time and received high praise from Pro Wrestling Illustrated and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Sting’s rivalry with Flair dates back to the first Clash of the Champions in 1988 and continued even when WCW met its demise and even resumed 10 years later in TNA Impact Wrestling.

The heart of the matter

All three men probably have hundreds of stories to share with each other and will reflect heavily on the time they spent working together in the NWA and WCW.

There are over 30 world championship reigns between all three men and they have faced many of the same opponents including Vader, Lex Luger, Macho Man Randy Savage and others.

Flair was the first of the three to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 and would be inducted twice as a member of The Four Horsemen in 2012. Steamboat would be inducted the following year in 2009 and Sting would enter the Hall of Fame in 2016.

What’s next?

It will be interesting to see what both Steamboat and Sting have to say about their rivalries with Flair since many fans considered the Nature Boy to be both men’s greatest rivals.

Another interesting talking point to look out for could be who any potential discussions they have about the wrestlers of the modern era and who they think follows in their footsteps.

Author’s take

Sting, Steamboat and Flair are all “Legendary Rivals” and it will be interesting to hear what these Hall of Famers have to say.
