What's the story?
WWE NXT sensation Velveteen Dream has decided to respond to a WWE clip which seemingly listed him in a set of dream opponents for 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena at WrestleMania.
In case you didn't know...
WWE veteran John Cena made his return to television earlier this month when he initially appeared on an episode of SmackDown Live. He teamed up with former SmackDown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch in order to compete in a Mix Tag Team Match, defeating the duo of Andrade and Zelina Vega.
Within the next few weeks, Cena shifted his focus to Monday Night Raw, as on his first night back, the former 16-time World Champion teamed up with Finn Balor and Seth Rollins in an explosive six-man tag match against the trio of Bobby Lashley, Dean Ambrose, and Drew McIntyre.
Last week on Raw, Cena had the chance of challenging 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Championship. However, Cena failed to become the new #1 contender after being defeated by Finn Balor in a four-way match also involving Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin.
The heart of the matter
Since making his return to WWE TV a few weeks ago, 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena has announced his entry into this year's 30-man Royal Rumble match and is surely aiming to win his record-breaking 17th WWE World Championship.
However, earlier in the week, WWE decided to post a clip of Cena potentially facing a dream opponent at this year's WrestleMania event and listed a set of superstars who could possibly share the ring with the leader of The Cenation.
Among other names, The Velveteen Dream was also mentioned on the list and shortly afterwards, the NXT star took it to Twitter and tweeted out stating that one day The Dream will wrestle John Cena and everyone will rejoice about it.
What's next?
Royal Rumble takes place on 27th January at the Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and The Dream could very well enter the 30-man Rumble Match as a surprise appearance.
