What’s the story?

Per an announcement made by the WWE, tonight’s episode of NXT will be a special 2-hour ‘Year In Review’ edition; looking back at 2017.

Additionally, an announcement regarding the NXT year-end awards will also be made tonight. A few other details on the episode were also revealed.

The WWE’s NXT brand serves not only as a developmental territory but also as a beloved third brand for the WWE today.

The NXT Universe comprises a dedicated fan-base with the up-and-coming Superstars putting on exhilarating matchups that are pre-taped and aired in an episodic format every Wednesday on the WWE Network.

The heart of the matter

Per the announcement made by the WWE, tonight’s 2-hour special ‘Year In Review’ episode of NXT will look back at the highlights from NXT’s journey in 2017.

Furthermore, an important announcement pertaining to the NXT year-end awards will also be made on tonight’s episode. Besides, NXT will also feature a special segment on NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon. The show shall also comprise promos from Johnny Gargano and NXT Champion Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. Below is the statement sent out by the WWE on the NXT year-end awards—

“At the end of each year, the NXT Universe rises to the call and cast their votes to decide the top movers, shakers and influencers in sports-entertainment's hottest brand as part of NXT's annual Year-End Awards.”

“Tonight, the 2017 Year-End Awards come into focus with a huge announcement, exclusively on WWE NXT. Be sure to watch when the news breaks on the award-winning WWE Network!”

What’s next?

Tonight’s episode of NXT airs at 8/7c and will build up to the upcoming NXT Championship Match between Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and number-1 contender Johnny Gargano, that takes place at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia on January 27th.

Honestly speaking, NXT is a safe haven for wrestling purists.

The brand is Triple H’s brainchild and the King Of Kings deserves as the praise in the world not only for coming up with the brand but also for executing its daily affairs to a T. Besides, NXT Takeover: Philadelphia may see this electrifying rivalry come to fruition again.
