WWE News: Original plans revealed for The Revival at Raw's 25th Anniversary show

What’s the story?

During the latest edition of X-Pac 1, 2, 360, WWE veteran and former New World Order member X-Pac revealed the original plans for The Revival at Raw’s 25th Anniversary show, earlier this week in New York City.

In case you didn’t know…

During Raw’s 25th Anniversary special this week, former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival found themselves in a very unfortunate spot as the duo of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder got brutally destroyed by The Balor Club, Scott Hall and a reunited D-Generation X in front of the live audience at the Manhattan Center.

Things didn’t look too promising for Dash and Dawson as following their loss to Anderson and Gallows on Raw 25, the duo was ambushed by a parade of legends as the likes of Triple H, Scott Hall, and Shawn Michaels thrashed the two men and hit them both with each of their finishing moves. Additionally, Finn Balor also joined in on the fun as he capped off the beating by hitting a brutal Coupe De Grace on Dash Wilder.

The heart of the matter

X-Pac recently claimed on the latest edition of X-Pac 1, 2, 360 that there was supposed to be an additional promo segment between The Revival and the WWE legends when Dash and Dawson first interrupted the ‘Too Sweet’ moment between DX and The Balor Club. According to X-Pac, Dash and Dawson were supposed to bash the legends and eventually set up their match-up with Anderson and Gallows, however, the segment, unfortunately, had to be cut due to a lack of time.

Furthermore, X-Pac also said that it’s a matter of shame that they had to skip out Revival’s initial promo because there were some really solid lines scripted for that interaction and segment between The Revival and DX, Scott Hall, and Balor Club.

What’s next?

The Revival will look to get retribution on Anderson and Gallows this Sunday at the Royal Rumble PPV when the two teams collide in a rematch from Raw 25.

The Revival’s momentum was heavily damaged at Raw’s 25th Anniversary and I believe that the WWE creative now has to put a lot of effort in rebuilding Dash and Dawson’s lost momentum.
