What’s the story?

The Smackdown GM recalls her first WrestleMania appearance where she and former WWE superstar AJ Lee faced off against The Bella Twins. Paige also pens an emotional statement in regards to her WrestleMania 31 match.

In case you didn’t know…

Back in April 7, 2014, Paige made her official RAW debut by defeating then Diva’s champion AJ Lee, thus capturing the title on her main roster debut. Throughout the year, the two talented female competitors battled for the top prize in the women’s division, with Lee coming out on top in the end.

Fast forward to a couple months later and the new champion being Nikki Bella, the Anti-Diva was saved from a malicious attack from the Bella Twins by AJ Lee and a WrestleMania 31 tag team match was set up between the four women.

The four women showcased their talent at the grandest stage of them with a solid back and forth encounter. Lee and Paige ultimately won the match.

Four years later, Paige would be forced to retire from professional wrestling entirely. In December 2017, Paige received a stiff kick in the back of the head from former RAW Women’s champion Sasha Banks. The former Diva’s champion was coming off a long layoff from a neck injury and sadly, the in-ring incident turned out to be a career-ending injury.
