What’s the story?

Paige has taken to social media so as to respond to a few people who’ve been criticizing her for gaining weight.

Apparently, while calling out critics of her weight-gain, Paige also sent out a message to all her fans so as to propagate body-positivity.

In case you didn’t know…

Paige has competed in the sport of professional wrestling since her teenage years and performed for the WWE since 2011.

After suffering what’s said to be a career-ending neck injury in late-2017, Paige now serves in a managerial/valet role as the leader of her stable Absolution.

The heart of the matter

Despite having suffered the aforementioned injury, Paige regularly posts updates of her working out at the gym.

However, as of late, a few fans seem to have directed some rather derogatory comments against Paige. A couple of examples of body-shamers targeting her include statements such as—“She (Paige) got fat”; “she’s a big girl now”; and so on and so forth.

Regardless, Paige insinuated that early on, she used to get criticized for being too skinny, and now that she’s gained some weight, certain people have been body-shaming her for getting heavier. Paige continued that people of all shapes & sizes are beautiful, and one ought to be confident in their respective bodies.

Furthermore, using the phrase “#EveryHumanDeservesRespect”, Paige emphasized that cyberbullies target everyone on social media, and more so, people who live their lives in the public eye such as her. Paige urged her followers to tag her in their selfies to show her how beautiful they are, which will also serve to make the trolls hate themselves even more.

What’s next?

Paige is set to cheer on her Absolution team-mates Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville as Rose, Deville, Mickie James, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss do battle with the latter’s title on the line tonight.

The aforementioned first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber matchup takes place inside the Elimination Chamber PPV which airs live from the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada tonight.

Author’s take

Paige truly is one of nicest WWE Superstars you’d ever meet, and if you’ve ever made her acquaintance in person, you’d concur with this statement.

Kudos to Paige for calling out the body-shamers hiding behind the safety of their keyboards. Besides, they wouldn’t dare mess with her in person…lest they “GET BIT”.
