WWE News: Paige was unsure of crowd's reaction when she returned on Monday Night RAW

What's the story?

Former two-time Women's Champion Paige recently made her return to Monday Night RAW after a lengthy spell away due to injury and has been tearing up the women's division on WWE television ever since.

However, the British wrestler has revealed that she was nervous about how the crowd would react when she stepped through the curtain.

In case you didn't know...

Paige made her return a few weeks ago on Monday Night RAW interrupting a Triple Threat match to determine the next #1 contender for Alexa Bliss' RAW Women's Title. She wasn't alone however as NXT Superstars Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville debuted alongside her

Since then the trio has been indiscriminately attacking several members of the red brand's women's division. We have also found out that the faction is called Absolution, and that they are there because before 'The Four Horsewomen' there was Paige.

The heart of the matter

During a recent episode of Paige's YouTube show, 'The Glampire Diaries', Paige is asked what the pop felt like when she made her debut, and the leader of Absolution revealed that she was actually a little nervous. She discusses it around the 12.12 mark in the video,

“It was insane to hear the crowd pop. First of all, I wasn't expecting it to be that loud, which was also incredible. Also, I was trying to keep my crap together because I was just like... oh my gosh, I felt so nervous.

But, yeah, it felt really good. It felt really, really good. I felt like 'people like me, they really like me.' No, it just felt really great, so thank you, everyone, for the support.”

What's next?

There's a lot going on with Paige and Absolution at the moment as they've attacked Bayley Sasha Banks and Mickie James several times, they've had two teased confrontations with Asuka, have attacked current RAW champion Alexa Bliss and they recently beat Alicia Fox to a pulp for no discernible reason.

Basically, there's plenty of options for Absolution to move forward in a storyline with basically anyone, except for Nia Jax, who is in love with Enzo now or something.

Author's take

I hope Paige remembers that pop for a long time, she's not had the greatest of years and I can understand her apprehension towards the crowd reaction given all of the controversy and news that has surrounded her recently, so hopefully the fact that the WWE Universe is fully behind her will help her continue to get back on track.
