What's the story?
AJ Styles squared off against Brock Lesnar in a contest that most would classify as simply phenomenal. Even though Lesnar came out victorious when all was said and done, AJ Styles still had his fair share of moments where he not only shined but also tested "The Beast Incarnate" to his limit.
Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman discussed his views of Styles after Survivor Series where he had nothing but glowing things to say about the former face of Impact Wrestling.
In case you didn't know...
AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar is a match that most would never see happen. But you can never say never in pro wrestling. Survivor Series was an incredible night full of action and intense drama. But AJ Styles brought something special to the table when he faced Brock Lesnar.
However, if you've followed Styles for very long you're probably aware of the exceptional level of talent he usually brings with him into a big match situation.
The heart of the matter...
After the classic confrontation between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman discussed his feelings on "The Phenomenal One".
Heyman said he's been a fan of AJ Styles even before he was supposed to be paying attention to him. He said Styles doesn't give himself enough credit and if someone isn't an AJ Styles fan then they "shouldn't even be watching WWE."
Brock Lesnar's advocate went on to compare AJ Styles to the best parts of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and Ric Flair while saying Styles is able to evolve those talents into something that is truly an honour to watch. The former head of ECW said he's been in the business his entire life and he's never seen anyone who compares to what AJ Styles brought to the table at Survivor Series.
Heyman said he thanked God when he heard AJ Styles was going to face Lesnar at Survivor Series and went on to put "The Phenomenal One" over for being an outstanding underdog who not only demanded respect but also rose to a new level in Houston.
"Tonight, he didn't just perform, he fought. And he took that fight to The Beast like very few ever have.
Which is why I stand before you tonight a humble advocate because I am truly with the champion of champions, the ultimate title holder, the reigning defending undisputed number one champion then, now, and forever Brock Lesnar."
AJ Styles was also a class act in the process as he said that Survivor Series might not have ended the way he would have preferred, but he proved that he wanted to. He also left an offer on the table for another match with Brock Lesnar down the line which would be pretty epic to see if their first contest is any indication of things.
What's next?
You never know if and when AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar might meet again. But as the two continue down their own roads, they very well might see their paths crossing again sooner or later. Especially since their first encounter was so incredibly special.

I can't lie, I had some big expectations for this match. But AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar really over delivered. Whether or not Lesnar is injured, little can take away from the incredible contest those two brilliant sports entertainers allowed us to bear witness to.
