What's the Story?

Brock Lesnar's Advocate Paul Heyman will cross paths with Goldberg once again as he inducts him into the WWE Hall of Fame one year after Lesnar defeated Goldberg for the Universal Championship.

In Case You Didn't Know

Goldberg's return to the WWE was sparked by comments from Heyman in 2016 who lambasted the former WCW superstar for being one of the few blemishes on Lesnar's resume.

Returning at Survivor Series later that year, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in 90 seconds and went on to win the Universal Championship in 2017.

The Heart of the Matter

The following is the statement WWE released regarding Heyman inducting Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame:

Heyman had a bird’s eye view of the type of carnage Goldberg could create inside the ring when he returned in 2016 to challenge Lesnar to a Mega Match at Survivor Series in Toronto. He was stunned when Goldberg bulldozed through The Beast in under two minutes to win his first match in 12 years. Heyman also witnessed the demolition derby for the Universal Championship between Goldberg and his client on The Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 33 last year. Though Goldberg was not victorious on that night, he certainly made a major impression on Lesnar and his advocate.

Heyman's role in the renewed rivalry between Lesnar and Goldberg was one of the many reasons fans prefer their matches in their 2016-2017 feud rather than their initial encounter at WrestleMania 20.

Goldberg's defeat at WrestleMania 33 launched Lesnar's renewed monster push which has seen him decimate every opponent he's faced with one F-5 as he closes in on a record-setting reign with the Universal Championship.

What's Next?

The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will emanate from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, April 6.

Goldberg is the headliner of the HOF class of 2018 and will be inducted alongside Mark Henry, The Dudley Boyz, Ivory, Kid Rock, Hillbilly Jim and others.

Author's Take

The last time Heyman talked about Goldberg it led to a face-off with Lesnar, so what happens in April remains to be seen.
