WWE News: Randy Orton was not pleased with his WrestleMania 33 entrance

WWE World Champion, Randy Orton

What’s the story?

Throughout his tenure in WWE, Randy Orton has always been quite the polarising figure. From suspensions due to violations of the Wellness Policy to altercations with fans seeking a photo with the Apex Predator, Orton’s actions outside the ring have earned as many headlines as his accomplishments inside it.

At a Q&A panel in his hometown, Randy Orton expressed some very strong opinions about his entrance at WrestleMania 33.

In case you didn’t know...

Most recently, Orton made news outside of the ring when he had a run-in with an overzealous fan at a gym. Orton was trying to get in a workout, and a fan approached him for a photograph. Orton pointed to his headphones and offered the fan a fist bump instead. The fan then proceeded to take a photo of Orton during his workout anyway, causing Orton to lash out about the situation on Twitter.

The heart of the matter

This past Saturday, Randy Orton attended a brief Q&A panel at Wizard World Comic Con in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. The crowd was keen to interact with the Viper, who didn’t pull many punches.

Orton didn’t mince any words when he was asked about his experience at WrestleMania 33. The Viper stated that he was happy with the match that he and Bray Wyatt were able to put on, but he was particularly displeased with his entrance.

He stated – in front of a crowd which included children – that, “the snake looked like a giant spe*m.” Orton then answered follow-up questions and explained that he has no say when it comes to his entrances for WrestleMania. Randy said that he’d love to have elaborate entrances at the Showcase of the Immortals, but he is often, “screwed out of entrances.”

Orton would later echo his loathsome attitude towards the snake when he stated that WrestleMania can have its negatives, such as having to, “ride a giant spe*m” down the entrance ramp.

What’s next?

Randy Orton will make his next appearance on SmackDown Live, which will showcase the blue brand's latest acquisitions from Raw.

Author’s take

Randy Orton has never been one to be particularly tactful in what he says, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Regardless of his lack of tact, there’s something to be said for Orton answering the questions honestly.
