What’s the story?

Dana Brooke has not been on WWE TV regularly and is hardly in any of the storylines these days. The former NXT has revealed on the Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia podcast that she almost quit WWE in February because of the same reason.

In case you didn’t know…

Fastlane was held in Cleveland, Ohio – Brooke's hometown. She was keen on working on the pay-per-view but was not scheduled to have a match. However, it was her cancelled match vs Natalya on Monday Night Raw that made her think about quitting the company.

The heart of the matter

Dana Brooke recalled the night she had decided to leave WWE. She was reportedly scheduled to have a match vs Natalya but that was scrapped in the end. She said,

“When I was told that ‘your match isn’t happening,’ at that point in time I was just like ‘No. This place does not define me. I am stronger than this. I wanna go to prove to the world that you can’t keep me down.'”

However, she thought twice about it later on a decision not to call it quits.

“I said ‘You know something, if I quit now, what kind of example am I gonna be for everyone that’s followed me. Who’s supported me. Who’s been my backbone through the hardest time. I cannot give up now.”

She did get a match on Monday Night Raw finally but it was against Ronda Rousey. The Raw Women's champion squashed her in no time and Brooke is back in the mid-card without a match at WrestleMania.

What’s next?

The only hope for Dana right now is the Women's Battle Royale. An over the top rope match is being planned for the women's division as well and she will surely be a part of it if it is added to the match card.
