What's the story?

Over the course of the past several weeks, The Shield has made multiple "final appearances" together.

Baron Corbin recently took to Instagram to take a subtle shot at the fact that the trio keeps coming back every time for more appearances.

In case you didn't know...

The Shield reformed back in March, when Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return to the squared circle and joined hands with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose again.

The Hounds of Justice defeated Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre at Fastlane in what was promised to be the final reunion of the notorious faction. This wasn't the truth though, as The Shield went on to make several more appearances on WWE TV, especially on Raw.

WWE has been advertising a Network special dubbed as "The Shield's Final Chapter", that will air on April 21st. This special is being touted as the very last time the WWE Universe is going to see the trio together.

The heart of the matter

The Shield's arch-nemesis, Baron Corbin posted a photo on Instagram that features him with his father-in-law smoking cigars and drinking whiskey. The hashtag that Corbin used in the picture hints that he has got a few days off from his grueling WWE schedule before he joins Lashley and McIntyre again to face off against The Shield.

Corbin stated in the caption that he needs another day like this one, after putting down The Shield three nights in a row. He finished off by adding that the trio never quits. Although it looks like a generic statement at first, Baron Corbin's history on social media begs to differ.

The Superstar is known for taking sarcastic shots at his opponents, as well as insulting them via his subtle jibes. This one does look like one of those jibes, with Corbin seemingly getting tired of The Shield coming back time and again, despite promising several final reunions in the past.

What's next?

Reportedly, The Shield is set to take on the dastardly trio of Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley at "The Shield's Final Chapter", streaming on the WWE Network on April 21st.

What are your views on Corbin's statement? Are you looking forward to The Shield's Final Chapter?
