Four of RAW's best will do battle in tag team action once again at No Mercy.

What's the story?

The WWE No Mercy card continues to get fleshed out. On September 24, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will defend the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships against the team they defeated for the titles, Sheamus and Cesaro.

In case you didn't know...

The reconciliation of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins has been one of the highlights of RAW over the last couple of months. The Rollins of 2017 is a far cry from the Rollins of 2014, and The Kingslayer put his all into regaining the trust of his former partner, Dean Ambrose.

The Lunatic Fringe was unwilling at first but eventually acquiesced ahead of a tag team title match at SummerSlam. In one of the best matches on the show, Ambrose and Rollins overcame Sheamus and Cesaro to win the RAW Tag Team Championships.

The heart of the matter

WWE is the land of championship rematches, and it was only a matter of time before The Bar received a rematch for the red tandem belts. On the most recent episode of RAW, it was confirmed that the rematch would take place at the next RAW-exclusive pay-per-view, No Mercy, on September 24.

Both teams were in action on last night's show, defeating former tag team champions in wildly different ways. Cesaro and Sheamus were in action first, making short work of the first ever SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Heath Slater and Rhyno. Sheamus pinned Rhyno after a Brogue Kick.

Later in the evening, Ambrose and Rollins had a tougher task on their plate in the shape of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Rollins pinned Anderson following a roll-up, caused by the interference of Sheamus and Cesaro. The Bar and The Good Brothers brawled after the match.

What's next?

The RAW Tag Team Championship match between Ambrose & Rollins and Cesaro & Sheamus is part of a stacked No Mercy card. The show will be headlined by the battle of the behemoths as Brock Lesnar defends the WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman, one of two WrestleMania-worthy matches alongside Roman Reigns vs. John Cena.

Alexa Bliss will defend the RAW Women's Championship in a fatal four-way against Nia Jax, Emma and Sasha Banks, whilst Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt will do battle once again.

Author's take

This story feels as though it is heading towards a Dean Ambrose heel turn and a WrestleMania match between the two, so it is far too early to split up the reformed Shield.

What this means for Cesaro and Sheamus remains to be seen. The match will surely be another fantastic battle between two great teams, on what could well be one of the best WWE shows of the year.
