The Raw Tag Team Championships will now be contested in a ladder match at WrestleMania. The chaotic events that transpired on the last episode of Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania led to this stipulation being added to the match.
The competitors need to climb a ladder to grab the Tag Team Championships and claim victory. The teams set to compete in the match are Cesaro and Sheamus, Enzo and Big Cass and the Club.
AS we had reported earlier on in the day before the announcement from WWE, sources claimed that the Hardys could be added to a ladder match at WrestleMania and this could be it.
In case you didn’t know...
Ladder matches have always been a significant part of the WrestleMania card. The TLC matches between the Dudley Boys, Edge and Christian, and the Hardy Boyz are interwoven into the fabric of WrestleMania.
The heart of the matter
On the go home edition of Monday Night Raw, the Club attacked Cesaro and Sheamus with a ladder during a backstage interview segment. Cesaro and Sheamus returned the favour when the tag team champions were making their way to the ring for a match against Enzo and Cass. This led to a brawl inside the ring among the three tag teams with a ladder being used as a lethal weapon. When the fighting was over, Gallows and Anderson stood tall asserting their dominance over the tag team division.
During the scuffle, Sheamus was busted open after taking a shot from the cold steel of the ladder. The Celtic Warrior needed 15 stitches to close the gash on his forehead.
What’s next?
The Ultimate Thrill Ride, Wrestlemania 33 is set to take place on the second of April at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL. Although the tag team match will be featured at the beginning of the card, it still has the potential to grab the spotlight and steal the show.
