What’s the story?
Per PWInsider, John Cena provided his take as to why he isn’t looking forward to a WrestleMania wedding with his fiancée Nikki Bella.
Cena asserted that he considers himself to be a statistician, and went on to explain how the odds would be stacked against him in a WrestleMania wedding scenario.
In case you didn’t know…
John Cena & Nikki Bella defeated The Miz & Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 33 last year, following which Cena got down on a knee and proposed to Bella, to which she said yes.
Although Cena & Bella have continually teased a wedding over the past few months, as documented on Total Divas as well as The Bella Twins YouTube channel, the couple is yet to tie the knot.
The heart of the matter
John Cena was probed as to whether he would consider having his marriage ceremony with Nikki Bella take place at WrestleMania 35 in April of next year.
Pointing out the history of WWE’s on-screen weddings being interrupted almost every time, Cena stated—
“I have been asked that question before, and I’m a statistician guy. Show me the data.”
“Things going wrong during a WWE engagement (would probably be) point, zero, zero, zero, five; (whereas) things going wrong during a WWE wedding (would be) one hundred percent—so I think I’m going to play the numbers, and quit while I’m ahead.”
What’s next?
John Cena is likely to face The Undertaker at this year’s edition of the Show of Shows, WrestleMania 34, which takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 8th.
Meanwhile, Nikki Bella could possibly participate in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal which also takes place at the aforementioned event.

Honestly speaking, WWE weddings are fun…after all, not many weddings feature powerslams through tables and scathing promos.
Perhaps John Cena and Nikki Bella’s wedding at WrestleMania 35 next year, could serve as a key part of storylines the couple may be involved in over the months to come.
