What’s the story?
E! News has revealed that Total Divas star and WWE personality Renee Young has revealed some of the details surrounding her wedding to WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose on April 9th. She revealed that they were never technically engaged and that the plan all along was to get married in Las Vegas when the time was right.
Renee would expand on this with the following quote:
"I wouldn't even really say that we were engaged. We've been together for three and a half years and we knew that we wanted to have a Vegas wedding, because we live in Las Vegas we just figured we'd do it there and we'd just do it super low-key. We got our marriage license about six months ago when we were in Reno.”
In case you didn’t know...
In 2009, Young worked for The Score in Canada on a show called Right After Wrestling; which later became Aftermatch. A couple of other former WWE personalities were on this show as well namely, Mauro Ranallo and Jimmy Korderas.
The heart of the matter...
Renee said that the idea to get married came about just as they were going to bed for the night. She would tell E! News the following about the moment:
"We were going to bed! We were going to bed and he like busted out the ring and we were like, 'Oh man I guess we should do this now.' So we ended up going on Yelp and we found a 24-hour pastor to come to our backyard. It was so handy and his name was Pastor Pete and he lived around the corner from us, so he was there.
They were very concerned by the way because it was 1 o'clock in the morning, so technically it was Sunday and they were very concerned about us calling, they were like, 'Is everything OK? Have you guys been drinking? What's happening?' We're like, 'It's fine, you can come down.' So we had to get a witness and we called and woke up a friend of ours and got it done."
The cat was out of the bag two days later on Talking Smack when Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens would randomly make a host of interesting comments. Viewers would notice the ring on Renee’s finger and would smartly go back to Raw the previous night to find a ring on Dean’s finger as well.
The following morning Renee would officially acknowledge it on Twitter:

What’s next?
You’ll see Renee Young next on the Payback Kickoff Show this Sunday leading up to the Raw branded pay per view. Oddly enough, Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose does not have a match on this Sunday’s show as of this writing.
Author’s take...
It is no secret to those who know me, Dean is my favourite wrestler, and it goes without saying that Renee is also one of my favourites in the WWE. These little details are a treat for me personally as a fan and the story as a whole is fitting for a laidback guy such as Dean Ambrose.
I always get a smile on my face when the couple is on camera together. It’s obviously that they really love each other, and you can tell that Dean tries his best to make Renee crack up live on-air.
