WWE News: Rob Van Dam on what could lead to a match against AJ Styles
What’s the story?
Rob Van Dam responded to a fan who asked for his thoughts on a potential matchup with AJ Styles.
In reference to the possibility of a WWE Championship match between him and Styles, Van Dam asserted that fans could get to witness the showdown, only if Triple H books the matchup—
In case you didn’t know…
Rob Van Dam rose to prominence in the WWE with his high-flying move-set.
The vast majority of professional wrestling experts believe that the WWE higher-ups have no intentions of bringing back RVD into the WWE fold; owing to Van Dam’s issues outside the ring.
The heart of the matter
On his part, Rob Van Dam has always been open to working with the WWE. Apparently, a fan asked RVD as to whether he could beat AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
Van Dam noted the question, and reverted back; insinuating that he is indeed very much open to a WWE return, but whether or not he gets booked in a Universal Championship matchup with Styles depends on WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.
Rob Van Dam presently performs on the indie circuit. No immediate plans for an RVD return are on the cards right now with WWE but with the Royal Rumble just around the corner; and WWE known to bring back promotional veterans at the event; anything is possible.
Rob Van Dam amazed several youngsters back in the day, and his problems with addiction and matters of the sort are truly saddening to see; especially as a longtime fan.
However, the man seems to be well on his road to recovery right now; can still go in the ring and would put on a great show against someone like Styles.
Which in turn begs the question…Will WWE bring RVD back?
