WWE News: Rumor killer on Josh Bredl's release

NXT prospect Josh Bredl aka Bronson Matthews is still with WWE

What’s the story?

As we had previously reported based on a story by Squared Circle Sirens, Josh Bredl was allegedly released from his WWE contract.

However, a WWE representative has denied the claim and confirmed that Bredl is still very much under contract with the company.

In case you didn’t know...

The 26-year old Joshua Bredl won the 2015 edition of WWE Tough Enough and was touted as one of the next big prospects to watch out for.

Bredl, who wrestled in NXT under the ring-name Bronson Matthews, is said to have suffered a concussion last year and has been out of action ever since.

The heart of the matter:

As reported by Cagesideseats, a WWE official has denied reports of Josh Bredl’s release from the promotion.

As of the time of this writing, Matthews aka Bredl - the man in question - has been relatively mum about the whole fiasco.

What’s next?

Josh Bredl hasn’t wrestled for the WWE since he suffered concussion issues in August of last year, and the company as well as Bredl himself, have provided no specific timeline for his return.

Author’s take:

The curious case of Josh Bredl i.e. NXT’s Bronson Matthews continues. Fans have been speculating about his sudden disappearance from the pro-wrestling scene for many months now.

It’s the WWE as well as the youngster’s stoic approach toward acknowledging his absence that makes the situation all the more discombobulating, so to speak. Concussions are no joke. We wish Josh Bredl the best of luck and hope to see him back in the ring soon.
