Welcome to the WWE News & Rumor Roundup for September 22, 2024. In today's edition, we'll look at topics about Brock Lesnar and Nikki Bella.
Plus, the wrestling legend who wants to face Rhea Ripley, an update on Drew McIntyre, and more. So, without further ado, let's get started:
#1 Injury update on Drew McIntyre after WWE SmackDown
Drew McIntyre lost to Jey Uso in a dark match following the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. Interestingly, one moment from their contest led to fears regarding The Scottish Warrior's health.

It appeared that McIntyre had injured his knee during the match. Sportskeeda's Dr. Chris Featherstone has reported on this topic, clarifying that the situation was not too serious. McIntyre was seemingly selling the injury for fans in attendance.
So, Drew McIntyre is not expected to go on a hiatus. Next month, he will fight CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell at WWE's Bad Blood event.
#2 WWE legend says Rhea Ripley "would be great to face"
Everyone wants a match against Rhea Ripley, whose popularity has skyrocketed over the last few years. Lita recently expressed interest in a fight with the Australian star.
During an appearance alongside Trish Stratus at Comic-Con Northern Ireland 2024, the WWE Hall of Famers were asked to pick potential opponents from the current roster. While Stratus chose Tiffany Stratton, Lita said:
"I think somebody that I had a very brief interaction with in the Royal Rumble, Rhea Ripley, has just grown so much and added so many layers to her character. I think she would be great to face."
#3 Maven explains Brock Lesnar's backstage attitude in WWE
Maven provided a behind-the-scenes look at Brock Lesnar in a new video on his YouTube channel. Although he spent enough time around The Beast Incarnate in the company, the former WWE Superstar admitted they were not close friends.
Maven also addressed rumors about Lesnar being a jerk in real life:
"Brock's a guy that's in no way shape or form trying to please you or anyone else. He's perfectly fine with living his life that way. When you're that big, that menacing, and have made that much money for the company and are that talented, and to boot, can back it up - there's not many people you don't have to not be a jerk for."
Maven added:
"Brock liked a certain group of people. He kept his circle extremely close. He has every right to do that. He probably had a lot of people that wanted to latch on to him, and he wasn't gonna have people latching on to him. Brock has a right to be how he is."
Brock Lesnar gave a rare peek into his personality during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in 2022. Interestingly, he admitted to having social anxiety.
#4 Nikki Bella is reportedly upset over Artem Chigvintsev's request
Earlier this month, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella filed to divorce Artem Chigvintsev after an alleged domestic violence incident. A recent report from Life & Style featured insider quotes about a new update on the situation:
"Nikki is absolutely furious that Artem is asking for spousal support. She's still in shock and has been asking herself, 'Who the hell did I marry?' She's dumbfounded by Artem's audacity and lack of shame. [She] plans on fighting back. She hopes a judge, if it actually comes to that, sees right through his disgusting and exploitative cash grab."
The source continued:
"Even if he wasn't asked back to be on Dancing With the Stars, she thinks he would still have asked her for spousal support."
#5 WWE RAW GM Adam Pearce teases in-ring return, Nick Aldis responds
Adam Pearce stepped away from in-ring competition in 2014 to pursue the opportunity of training future WWE Superstars. 10 years later, fans often ask whether he would return to the ring to face SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis one day.
Pearce highlighted this question recently, teasing the possibility of a match between him and Aldis without confirming it:
"There are two groups of fans that would love to see that [Adam Pearce vs. Nick Aldis]. There are the WWE fans who wanna see the two GMs go at it whether they know we're wrestlers or not. Then there's the litany of NWA fans who wanna see the two modern world champions that always come to mind battle for supremacy. I've thought about it a lot, and I said I'd never angle for a match, and I won't. But if you are asking me to be honest, would I come back to active wrestling and face Nick Aldis? The short answer is..."
Nick Aldis reacted by sending a message of his own to Adam Pearce:
"After much deliberation I have decided to respond to this post by my RAW counterpart. We both enjoyed a decorated tenure in our careers before WWE; there is no doubt you & I respect the legacy and tradition of our industry. So you're asking if I would step in the ring with you?... Time will tell."
You can see Aldis' post below, which also includes a picture of him looking absolutely jacked:
Adam Pearce was technically part of a Gauntlet match and a tag team contest in 2021. But those instances barely showcased his in-ring ability.
It's unlikely that the WWE RAW GM will come out of retirement for a proper showdown against Nick Aldis anytime soon. But in this business, it's best to say 'never say never.'
