Imagine this sensational superstar returning to WWE, for another run!

What's the story?

ECW legend Rob Van Dam recently had a word with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, about a potential WWE return. The veteran confirmed that he was in talks with WWE, but it was related to video games, and not a potential comeback.

However, he did not rule out the possibility of a return. We bring you his quote, via IWNerd.com.

In case you didn't know...

Rob Van Dam is one of the greatest superstars of all time, and the only man in history to be world champion in ECW, WWE and TNA, at different points in his career. He is undefeated at both Wrestlemania and Bound for Glory, across his 7 appearances in both pay-per-views.

Many fans have longed for another WWE run from the superstar, and if all goes well, we may see one, very soon indeed.

The heart of the matter

RVD spoke to Sports Illustrated at a charity event he was part of. This was organized by Booker T, to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

This is what RVD had to say about a potential comeback:

I don’t have any plans to share, but there is always a possibility of a return. I’ve talked to WWE recently, but it’s about the new video games that are coming out. That was more of a business talk about that, but when the business is right and it’s the right time to go back, that, of course, is then always a possibility.

At the same time, RVD is content to be a part of the independent wrestling scene, with 24 confirmed matches across the next twelve months.

What's next?

Could RVD be the face of the next WWE 2K video game? If so, we could definitely see him back in the company, for yet another run.

Author's take

Rob Van Dam is one of those characters who remind fans of a better time in sports entertainment. His return should really bring back old time fans, and set social media on fire, if it does happen.
