WWE News: Ryback claims WWE failed to recognise his value

Ryback is currently wrestling on the independent circuit

Ever since he left the WWE a few months back, Ryback has been quite vocal about his departure, often pointing out where the world’s biggest pro-wrestling promotion went wrong in the way they handled him.

He has been using his podcast, named ‘Conversation with The Big Guy’, as a platform to talk about his run in the WWE and the problems that he faced. In the latest episode of the podcast, Ryback suggested that his former employers had made a mistake by letting him go.

According to ‘The Big Guy’, he often told them that, in him, they had someone who can stay healthy and fit for them and not fail a wellness test. Moreover, he was willing to wrestle anyone from top to bottom and knew how to get over so it surprised him that they don’t want to take advantage of his presence.

“I always said, ‘you guys have a guy that can maintain and stay healthy on the road for you and not fail a wellness test and work with everyone from top to bottom and know how to get over. You’re not going to capitalise on that?”

However, he proceeded to say that he doesn’t mind the fact that they did not recognise his value and that he is going to show them and the world what he is capable of doing.

“Come on! They missed the boat. They didn’t know what they had and I’m fine with that. I’m going to show the world what I am now,” the former WWE Intercontinental Champion said.

Earlier, Ryback had been struggling to use his in-ring name, while wrestling on the independent circuit but he legally changed his name to Ryback Reeves to make it possible. At present, though, he is involved in another tussle with the WWE over the rights to his nickname, ‘The Big Guy’.

Ryback’s last match in the WWE came at the Payback pay-per-view back in May this year, where he fought Kalisto for the United States Championship and lost. Below is a video of the match:
