WWE News: Ryback explains why Miz is one of the best natural wrestlers of all time
What’s the story?
On an edition of his Conversation With The Big Guy podcast, Ryback opined that The Miz is one of the best natural pro-wrestlers of all time.
Expounding upon the same, Ryback explained the reason behind The Miz’s greatness, while also praising the latter for constantly ascending to the top of the WWE food chain.
Ryback claimed, "I am personally very happy for Miz. I am going to go out and make a very bold statement. I think for knowing Miz, I believe he is one of the best natural wrestlers of all time. By that I mean that he has never done any performance enhancing drugs; I did them in my early 20's, (but) I haven't done them in forever, but I think Miz is not the best at anything if that makes sense, but he is really consistent—he is great on the mic, but I wouldn't even say he is the best on the microphone, but he is great at doing him."
In case you didn’t know…
The Miz, whose real name is Mike Mizanin, debuted in the sport of professional wrestling in 2003 and signed with the WWE in 2004.
The 37-year old has been a WWE Superstar ever since. He has previously held the WWE Championship as well, among several other titles.
The heart of the matter
Additionally, Ryback elucidated that the best word to describe The Miz is ‘consistent’, as you know what you’re going to get from him. Ryback added that Miz has been consistent for a long time and is pretty good at getting people to hate him. However, lately the fans have started showing him more appreciation and even cheering him at times.
Ryback also explained that while someone who looks like him could be hurt by bad booking as he’s a big guy. With The Miz being neither too big nor too small, he can be booked to lose over long stretches of time, but still come out with his character relatively unharmed. Ryback continued that he’s happy about The Miz and Maryse getting a new reality show.
The Miz is presently the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, while Maryse remains on hiatus owing to her pregnancy.
The A-List couple’s baby is due in April, around Wrestlemania 34. As a consequence, the Miz could likely miss Wrestlemania this year.
It’s hard to disagree with Ryback here, in the sense that The Miz is indeed consistency personified. However, calling him the best natural pro-wrestler of all time might irk a few pro-wrestling critics.
