WWE News: Ryback says he should face Goldberg not Lesnar

Ryback wants Goldberg!

As seen on this week's episode of RAW, Paul Heyman challenged Goldberg to a match against his client: Brock Lesnar. Rumours of a possible match between the two has been passed around for months ever since the announcement of Goldberg being the pre-order special for the recently released WWE 2k17 Game.

It seems like the wheels are in place for Goldberg to return to the squared circle for one more match. This will also be a rematch from Wrestlemania XX where Goldberg was victorious and was the last time Goldberg was seen in a WWE Ring. However, Goldberg has other options too.

Ryback recently spoke with Busted Open about the match between Lesnar and Goldberg.

He admits that he wishes it was him facing Goldberg instead of Brock. As most of WWE viewers are aware of, Ryback is a guy who was often compared to Goldberg and received a lot of ‘GOLDBERG’ chants directed towards him whenever he wrestled to the point that it could have been argued that his last attire made him resemble Goldberg even more.

Here is what he said:

“I think it’s really cool that he, he’s going to be 50 years old, that he wants to come back and come back for his family and kids to see him in true time do his thing. Now, I will say, he knows, he said it himself, he’s going on 50 years old and he has been away from the game for quite a long time. And for me, for my own selfish reasons, that should be me and Goldberg. It shouldn’t be him and Brock. It has been there. They’ve done that 13 years ago. It’s 13 years have gone by. We’re in a different era now” (Source: Busted Open).

While a bout between Goldberg and Ryback could have been a passing of the torch, Goldberg VS Lesnar II could possibly set up a third match at Wrestlemania if the match is before then.
