What’s the story?

Sami Zayn has taken to social media to comment on his victory on SmackDown Live, asserting the fact that he pinned 13-time World Champion Randy Orton:

That, in turn, led to a bevvy of replies from fans subtly dismissing the low blow which helped Zayn procure the win over Orton:

In case you didn’t know…

Sami Zayn turned heel at the blue brand’s Hell In A Cell PPV, betraying Shane McMahon and aligning himself with longtime frenemy Kevin Owens.

Zayn has been at the centre of debates and discussion in the professional wrestling community ever since.

The heart of the matter

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens competed against Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Tag Team match, headlining this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Zayn landed an illegal strike ergo a low blow on Orton and subsequently pinned him for the win, following which both the former and Owens have been bragging about their success not only as the show went off the air, but also on social media.

Speaking of which, Zayn seems to be considerably adherent and disciplined as regards sticking to his heel persona outside the ring as well, claiming that he pinned the 13-time World Champion and WWE’s highly-respected Viper ‘clean as a whistle’.

What’s next?

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are likely to keep working as allies for the weeks to come on SmackDown Live. Reports suggest that the duo will face the team of Shane McMahon and AJ Styles at Survivor Series.

Author’s take

Well, Sami Zayn stays true to form and goes all-out in whatever he does, doesn’t he?

The underdog from the underground went through a seemingly low phase during his run as a babyface and is now blazing a new trail in his wonderful career as an unlikely villain.
