Sami Zayn may be returning to action extremely soon!

What's the story?

WWE Superstar and former NXT Champion, Sami Zayn, has been out of action for a long while due to injuries he suffered last year after WrestleMania.

Finally, after what seems like forever, Zayn is on the fast road to recovery. According to reports by PW Insider, Zayn might be able to return to the main roster sooner rather than later.

In case you didn't know...

Following WrestleMania, after a feud with Bobby Lashley, Sami Zayn was diagnosed with an injury to his shoulder. Upon further investigation, it was found that Zayn had been carrying an injury on his other shoulder as well. He had to be written off television following a loss to Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank, so he could receive treatment for his shoulder injuries.

Sami Zayn was found to have been carrying one of the injuries for the better part of a decade without realising it. He underwent surgery for both of his shoulders, which was reported to be successful.

The heart of the matter

According to reports by PW Insider, Sami Zayn's road to recovery has progressed to a more promising place. Now, it seems that Sami Zayn has shown up in WWE's Performance Centre where he is working on returning to full-time action.

With the Royal Rumble less than two weeks away from taking place, if Zayn can progress enough on his recovery, he may show up in the 30-man WWE Royal Rumble match.

When Zayn suffered his injuries, he was working as a heel on RAW, but going by his Twitter and social media presence, there is a chance that Zayn takes up his face persona when he finally returns to action.

What's next?

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are both slated to return in the next few weeks, with WWE showing video promos of the two of them on recent episodes. It will be interesting to see the manner in which they return.
