When Samoa Joe dropped his NXT Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at an NXT Live Event in Osaka Japan, many thought that it was the final chapter of their rivalry. But apparently, that's not the case.
Allwrestlingnews.com has reported that a rematch between the former World Champions is already set to take place. This time inside a steel cage.
According to the site, WWE has advertised that Nakamura will defend his newly won NXT Championship against Joe, during the upcoming NXT Live Event from Margaret Court Arena on December 8th. Interestingly, the cage match is also being advertised to air on the WWE Network.
Samoa Joe first won the NXT Championship during a Live Event back in April this year. He defeated the then champion Finn Balor in a one on one match to win his first championship.
The former TNA World Champion held the NXT title for 121 days, before being defeated by Shinsuke Nakamura during the NXT TakeOver: Back to Brooklyn event on August. You can watch the full match between the two from the NXT TakeOver : Back To Brooklyn event below:
He managed to recapture the belt during NXT TakeOver: Toronto but lost it again to Nakamura two days ago on an NXT Live Event in Japan. After the announcement for the rematch, it's widely believed that the two men would continue to feud for the top price throughout their current NXT Tour.
Since Joe is believed to get his much-anticipated main roster call-up before the next set of tapings after the current tour packs up, another title change looks to be very unlikely.
Regarding the plans for his debut, it's said that Joe would take part in the annual Royal Rumble match. However, it's not known yet if the former TNA star would be joining Raw or SmackDown Live. Both ways, there is no denying that he would prove to be an interesting addition to either of the two rosters.
