What’s the story?

Following his emphatic win over The Miz last night at the Backlash pay-per-view, WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins was involved in a backstage interaction with interviewer Mike Rome.

During the interview, Rollins spoke about the prestige and pride he takes in being the Intercontinental Champion of the WWE.

In case you didn’t know…

Earlier this year, at WrestleMania 34, Seth Rollins became a WWE Grand Slam Champion, after he successfully captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship for the very first time in his career, following an astonishing triple threat match against then-Champion The Miz and Finn Balor.

After winning the IC title in New Orleans in April, Rollins successfully went on to defend the Championship belt at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in a fatal four-way ladder match also involving Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, and The Miz.

In addition, ‘The Architect’ also defended his strap successfully against Finn Balor on last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.

The heart of the matter

While conversing with Mike Rome last night at the Prudential Center, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins first reflected on his forthcoming hectic schedule with the WWE, as he and his fellow colleagues are now set to take over Europe for the next two weeks.

However, regardless of Rollins’ restless schedule with the company, he eventually did speak about his successful IC title defense against The Miz at Backlash.

As per, ‘The Kingslayer’ he proudly stated that he seemingly takes pride in being the Intercontinental Champion of the WWE, thanks to the likes of Razor Ramon, Pat Patterson, Shawn Michaels, and even his long-term rival The Miz, who sure did put up one hell of a fight against the champion last night in New York.

What’s next?

Now that Seth Rollins’ rivalry with The Miz is pretty much done and dusted, ‘The Architect’ can seemingly look forward to fresh new feuds and rivalries on Monday Night Raw.
