What's the story?
Finn Balor had a valiant showing against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Unfortunately, he would come up short against The Beast Incarnate.
Shortly after winning the Royal Rumble match, Seth Rollins caught up with Charly Caruso for an exclusive backstage interview. While he has not made up his mind yet, Rollins spoke about potentially facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 with the Universal Championship on the line.
In case you didn't know...
Finn Balor did not step out as the Demon King to challenge Brock Lesnar. While he did seem like he had the upper hand at certain points during the match, Balor would ultimately lose to The Beast Incarnate.
Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman were the two final men in the men's Royal Rumble. Rollins defeated Strowman to earn himself a spot at WrestleMania. The cameras caught up with him shortly after his amazing performance.
The heart of the matter
Caruso asked Rollins what he learned from Finn Balor's performance against Brock Lesnar. Rollins had the following to say:
Tells me to have hope, but at the same time be cautious. I've seen what smaller competitors can do to Brock Lesnar. But I've also seen what Brock Lesnar has done to every single competitor in the WWE. Whether it's larger or smaller, he's manhandled them.
Rollins admitted that he'd rather be at a beach to soak in the Royal Rumble victory. But he had little time to process his win with RAW in a few hours. He continued about Lesnar:
At the end of the day he's got the 1,2,3. He made Finn tap out and nearly broke his arm and then added insult to injury after the fact. So like I said, there's hope because small guys do have an edge against him. But at the end of the day, he's a freak. And preparing for him is unlike preparing for any other athlete in the world should I choose to do that!
