What's the story?

One of the most iconic moments in recent WWE history is the debut of The Shield at Survivor Series in 2012. When they debuted on the main roster, Seth Rollins was the NXT Champion, and the 2019 Royal Rumble winner revealed recently a little about his appearance, especially his blonde dyed hair.

In case you didn't know...

Rollins was the first NXT Champion, having won the title following a victory over future WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal.

During his NXT days, Rollins stood out from the rest not only for his incredible wrestling ability, but also for his slick blonde dyed hair.

The heart of the matter

In a WWE Then and Now feature, Rollins spoke about his FCW and NXT career, how he transitioned from the independent wrestling scene to WWE, as well as his ring gear and appearance.

“It’s funny the question I get more than anything is ‘When are you gonna bring the blonde streak back?’ Because at the time there were so many guys in FCW who had long dark hair and beards. So I wanted to do something to stand out, what’s it gonna hurt to color half my hair and see what happens? And it worked," said Rollins (H/T Ringside News for the transcription).

The 2019 Royal Rumble winner said didn't reveal if he'll bring back the blonde streak, but that he's been asked about it all the time by fans.

What's next?

Rollins won the 2019 men's Royal Rumble match, and chose to face off against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 for the Universal title. Reports suggest that Rollins is currently injured, but that he will be fit and ready to face Lesnar at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
