What’s the story?
As noted on tonight’s edition of SmackDown Live, General Manager Daniel Bryan suffered a brutal beatdown at the hands of the notorious duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
Following the unprecedented assault, SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon took it to the social media in order to give his take on the savage mugging put up by Owens and Zayn earlier in the day.
In case you didn’t know…
On last week’s episode of SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon made two huge announcements as he first stated that he is set to take some time-off as the commissioner of the blue brand and also evidently confirmed the news that both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will square off in a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 34.
However, following Shane’s announcement, he was involved in yet another heated altercation with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who decided to pull off the unthinkable by savagely beating up the Commissioner of Smackdown Live, before his temporary departure from the promotion.
The heart of the matter
The day started off with the massive news of Daniel Bryan finally being medically cleared to wrestle for the first time in over two years. On today’s episode of SmackDown Live, Bryan finally addressed Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for beating up their boss Shane McMahon last week.
Bryan, who eventually fired Zayn and Owens for last week’s attack on Shane, got physically involved in a wrestling ring for the first time since 2015 when he suffered the similar faith as Shane O’Mac after getting powerbombed on the apron by Kevin Owens.
However, following the turn of the controversial events in Dallas tonight, Shane McMahon took it to his Twitter handle and weighed in on the situation by stating that on a night that was supposed to be Daniel Bryan’s finest was initially ruined by the cowardly act from both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who proved that they are vile and spineless cowards.
Shane, in addition, also claimed that neither Owens nor Zayn belongs in the WWE nor on SmackDown Live.
What’s next?
It now looks like the ideal choice from here onwards would be to book a tag team match between the duo of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens against the team of Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, later next month.

I think Owens and Zayn’s attack on Bryan further proves that the WWE is currently heading towards a potential tag team matchup that has been mentioned in the above section. Personally, I do hope that we get to see Bryan and Shane team up against Owens and Zayn at ‘Mania 34.
