WWE News: Shane McMahon talks about wrestlers walking on eggshells

Shane O’Mac revealed a secret that isn’t a secret to anyone!

What’s the story?

As reported by WrestleZone, WWE SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon has spoken about wrestlers within the company walking on eggshells. McMahon, who is coming off the back of an impressive performance at WrestleMania 33, talked about the issue on Stone Cold’s podcast.

In case you didn’t know...

Shane has been doing some great work over on the blue brand over the last few months, with his bout against AJ Styles at the Citrus Bowl being the match of the night for many at WM33. In terms of podcasts, Shane hasn’t done all too many since returning to the company aside from the interview with Mick Foley which aired on the WWE Network last year.

The heart of the matter

Shane had the following to say about superstars walking on eggshells.

“I’m sure there’s some of that. The freedom to kind of try things is limited. You can try them out more on house shows. As you know, when you try certain things you can see whether they work or don’t work. When it comes to TV, there’s a certain finite of the amount of time that you have.”

I think a lot of guys also, again, with the territory days drying up, they never had the ability to go try it somewhere else so they don’t know.

What’s next?

Shane will continue to serve as the Commissioner for team blue, and as of right now he’s showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to his in-ring ability. Many fans are anticipating that he’ll have another match at WrestleMania 34 next year in New Orleans; however, that has yet to be confirmed or denied.

Author’s take

Shane was never going to let loose on Austin's podcast completely, and that’s completely understandable. He certainly told some cool stories, but there’s not as much of an audience as there would be if it’d taken place in the Network. As such, we’d like to see a sequel to this in the near future.
