What's the story?

Insane Championship Wrestling whipped the wrestling world into a frenzy today when they confirmed that a WWE Superstar would be in action at their ICW Fight Club tapings in Glasgow's intimate Garage venue tonight, competing against ICW mainstay Mikey Whiplash.

Well, the secret is now out and, to close tonight's event, Mikey Whiplash's opponent was... Killian Dain!

In case you didn't know...

WWE's SmackDown Live roster were in Glasgow today for an event at the SSE Hydro. WWE's show started at the earlier time of 3:30pm, with ICW running at the later time of 8:30pm to allow as many Scottish wrestling fans to attend both as possible.

Insane Championship Wrestling's Mark Dallas yesterday confirmed that Mikey Whiplash would face off against a WWE Superstar in the ring at tonight's Fight Club tapings at the Garage venue. Previously, Triple H has appeared in an ICW ring, as has Finn Balor and Mick Foley while contracted to WWE, but plenty of WWE's current roster have plied their trade in ICW in the past.

The heart of the matter

At tonight's ICW Fight Club, the surprise return of a mystery WWE Superstar was kept a secret right up until the final half hour of the event, with Killian Dain, formerly known as Big Damo, returning to the brand where he made such a name for himself.

The Beast from Belfast had been in action at WWE Live earlier in the day, but pulled double duty to surprise the Scottish fans at an intimate Glasgow Garage to an incredible ovation.

Dain faced off against Mikey Whiplash, a man he has a storied history with. You can see a video of the moment he made his return below.

What's next?

Well, who knows? This is awesome, purely for the fact that WWE are now seemingly more open to allowing their talents to work outside the company to make special appearances like these. I guess only time will tell where we go from here!
